Our Process

Mites Out Marin uses The Hygienitech® Mattress Cleaning and Sanitizing process which is the only safe, chemical free, dry treatment, scientifically proven way to clean and sanitize a mattress properly. Only the Hygienitech® system combines a high powered, specially designed, extremely powerful extraction device with a maximum allowable powerful UV-C germicidal light to clean and sanitize mattresses, carpets, draperies, furniture, children’s stuffed toys and just about anything you’ll find in a home or multi-bed facility– all in one easy step. This process effectively removes and destroys dust mites, bed bugs fungal spores, bacteria and other harmful.

This exciting process is a completely non-invasive, totally safe, and effective way to disinfect any mattress, regardless of its age, size or style. The older the mattress is, the worse the contamination. The process we have developed is merely an extension of the same methods that the medical profession has been using for many years.

For many years, Europe has led the way in bringing this safe, chemical-free, dust mite and allergen eliminating process to the people. Europeans have been cleaning and sanitizing mattresses for years. Today, tens of thousands of mattresses are cleaned and sanitized every week. Perhaps this explains why they don’t have(or need) as many Allergy Doctors per capita as we have in the U.S.

A clean mattress can make a tremendous difference in the way we feel. When it comes to most common allergies, it’s very likely that a dust mite infested mattress is the cause. Call for your free Dust Mite Mattress Contamination Test today and begin feeling better tomorrow morning.

Our process is a multi-pronged attack against dust mites, bacteria, mold and fungal spores, common virus and a long list of other contaminants that are found in most homes, as well as multi-bed facilities. First, we go over your mattress with a device comprising a high powered suction device working in conjunction with an electronically regulated germicidal UV-C light. This is ultraviolet light of the C band, a type of highly compressed light which penetrates the surface and functions as a completely green, chemical-free and dry, all natural purification system.

After completing the cleaning and sanitizing process, an all natural, chemical and perfume free citrus spray is misted throughout the area in order to cleanse the air above and surrounding the treated surfaces.

The result is that any mattress, chair, sofa, carpet or drapery is purged of both the dust mites and their debris in a safe and effective manner. It’s fast, too. The whole process takes only around 22-minutes minutes for a king-sized mattress. It’s recommended you have this procedure done twice a year to keep down the allergens in your home. It makes sense to get rid of your unwanted sleeping partners and create a healthier home for you and your family.

Mites Out Marin’s Cleaning System is based on a powerful, specially engineered portable cleaning device that generates incredible suction and high frequency pulsating waves, combined with a germ killing UV-C light* to pulverize and extract the dust mites and other harmful debris that have accumulated in the mattress. Ultraviolet light has wavelengths shorter than visible light and at a certain wavelength (253.7 nanometers) it is considered germicidal UV. At this range the light is mutagenic to micro-organisms, meaning that it will destroy them by breaking the molecular bonds within their DNA.

The older the mattress is, the worse the contamination. And it doesn’t matter how often you change the sheets or even if you’ve tried vacuuming the mattress yourself, there could be millions of dust mites along with other harmful bacteria and contaminants deeply embedded.

*UV-C LIGHT is germicidal – i.e., it deactivates the DNA of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. Specifically, UV-C light causes damage to the nucleic acid of microorganisms by forming covalent bonds between certain adjacent bases in the DNA. The formation of such bonds prevent the DNA from being unzipped for replication, and the organism is unable to reproduce. In fact, when the organism tries to replicate, it dies.
